This was a conversation between my husband, who did not see the movie because he had to work and my youngest son. Sarcastic and yet still funny, which a lot of people really try to imitate, even by my youngest son. I like the way Vice Ganda throws his punchlines with sarcasm. Happiness always depend on us, our purpose and disposition. My 2 sons’ new expression (and mine too) after the movie is “Grabe siya oh”. This is because in our minds, we went there to enjoy, not analyze the movie. The goal of the movie is to make us happy and forget about any problems we may have or life’s stresses.īATB was successful in making us laugh and be happy while and after seeing the movie. I am person who often times overthinks but when it comes to movies, I just want to have fun, laugh my heart out and not over analyze things. But my opinion on this is that, personally, I watch funny movies to just laugh not think. There may have been comments about it being just plain comedy, monotonous and somewhat boring or that there’s nothing new about it or with Vice’s antics. I’ve read reviews about MMFF movies and some shared their thoughts about and lessons learned from the movies they’ve seen so I thought of also sharing mine about BATB.īATB is definitely a funny movie.
Whew!Įven before watching the MMFF, I’ve seen the movie preview in cinemas and YouTube, and I just can’t stop laughing each time. My 15 year old son did not see any preview of the movie but when I said that it’s a Vice Ganda movie, he said yes and agreed to pay for the tickets and popcorn from his savings. This year, we chose Beauty and the Bestie (BATB). The rest of the movies will have to wait until there’s not too many people lining up and that is usually after New Year, when everyone’s back to their normal lives. Each year, my son and I choose just 1 movie to watch and line up for. This year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) featured equally good movies with equally good artists.
